About

A small practice for considered money decisions

Pillar Grove Wealth Guidance exists for people who want independent financial advice without a sales floor. We work from Herzog End, Scotland, with clients across Great Britain who value written conclusions and honest boundaries.

Fiona Macrae, Principal Adviser

Fiona has spent her career in UK retail financial advice, with particular time spent on pension transfers, retirement cash-flow conversations, and the messy middle of family wealth where wills and wrappers meet. She founded Pillar Grove to keep caseloads small enough that every client still receives a plan drafted in full sentences.

Credentials held include Chartered Financial Planner status and membership of a UK professional body for personal finance practitioners. She refers mortgage and specialist tax work rather than stretching beyond competence.

How we think about advice

Money decisions sit inside real calendars: school fees, ageing parents, partnership changes, and the year someone finally stops commuting. Our job is to translate product paperwork into choices that fit those calendars.

We favour fixed-fee consultations so you know the cost of thinking before any product conversation begins. When an ongoing relationship makes sense, we propose it explicitly rather than assuming a retainer.

Roots in Herzog End

The office at 449 N Court Street, Herzog End, Scotland, United Kingdom is intentionally quiet — a place for long tables of statements rather than a bustling branch. Clients who prefer not to travel meet by video with the same document share and follow-up rhythm.

Values we keep visible

Plain writing

Recommendations arrive as letters and tables you can re-read at the kitchen table, not as unexplained charts.

Named boundaries

We state what we do not cover — mortgages, discretionary fund management, legal drafting — so you are never left guessing.

Client pace

Hard deadlines are respected; invented urgency is not. You decide when to act on a recommendation.
